The future Gulf Coast Trail…

  • was made a priority by the Sarasota/Manatee MPO Board in April 2017.
  • follows the existing SUN Trail along the southern portion reaching Payne Park in Sarasota.
  • separates into 2 segments at Payne Park: an Eastern Wilderness route and a Western Coastal route.
  • provides opportunity for bicycle commuters and tourists to explore the Barrier Islands, and travel north/south along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
  • is good for economic development, redevelopment, and tourism.
  • guarantees that our area will be a bicycling destination, rather than simply a pass-through.

The purpose of this event is to showcase future trail destinations in Sarasota, share plans with the community, gather input regarding future regional trails, and celebrate the successes and accomplishments in achieving this future vision. Roll & Stroll Sarasota is truly a community celebrating the Legacy Trail. The Legacy Trail connects communities and provides a safe space for people of all ages and abilities, providing additional safe, non-vehicle mode choices for the public.

Pre-register and you will be entered for a chance to win a fabulous raffle prize.
