Destination Zero

Destination Zero is the Sarasota/Manatee MPO's strategy for making significant reductions in the number of fatal and serious injury crashes on our roads. The only acceptable number of life-ending and life-changing crashes is zero. Learn more about what the MPO and its partners are doing to improve roadway safety in the region for all users.

Community Traffic Safety Team

The Community Traffic Safety Team (CTST) is coordinated by Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and comprised of representatives from local law enforcemend and EMS/fire rescue, bicycle clubs, jurisdictional planning and engineering staff, and the MPO.

FDOT encourages integrating the efforts of the 4 "E" (Engineering, Enforcement, Education/Public Information, and Emergency Services) disciplines into highway safety. Working with interested citizens and other traffic safety advocates within their communities, the CTSTs help to solve local traffic safety problems and promote public awareness of traffic safety best practices through campaigns that educate drivers, motorcyclists, pedestrians, and bicyclists about the rules of the road.

Do you have a safety issue or concern?

The CTST meets virtually on the third Tuesday of the month (January to December) at 1 pm.  Speak publicly at the meeting during the public comment period and/or submit an action item request form.
