Public Information Meeting for the New Pass Drawbridge Repair Project
State Road 789 over New Pass in Sarasota County
Bartow--The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is hosting a public information meeting, to discuss the upcoming proposed structural improvements to the State Road 789 New Pass Drawbridge over New Pass in Sarasota County, Florida (Financial Project ID 437966-1-52-01).
The public information meeting will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Longboat Key Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road, Longboat Key, Florida 34228.
The meeting will be an open house format; no formal presentation will be made. Those attending the meeting will be able to view the displays, ask questions, and discuss the work one-on-one with the members of the team.
The proposed improvements include repairs to the concrete approach span, and replacement of the bascule span open grid.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in June, 2020 with an estimated completion time of late 2020. During construction, motorists can expect travel lane shifts, travel lane width reductions, and night time bridge closures between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. with no detour for intervals of 30 minutes maximum duration.
