Each year the Sarasota/Manatee MPO updates the 5 Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The new Draft TIP for FY 2022/23—2026/27 is now available for public review and comment.

The draft TIP will be presented at upcoming committee meetings on May 9th and to the MPO Board at their next MPO Board meeting on May 23, 2022. The TIP must be submitted to FDOT by July 15, 2022.

The PPP is the guide to involving the public in the MPO transportation planning process, major documents, projects, and programs. Every three years, MPO staff evaluates the public participation techniques and strategies laid out in the Public Participation Plan (PPP). Afterwards, the PPP is updated to incorporate the findings from the evaluation. The MPO wants to hear your input on the updated DRAFT PPP. If you have any comments or questions, please let us know by 5:00PM on Monday, May 19, 2021 when the official 45-day comment period closes. Here are four ways for the public to comment on the PPP:

Background: The process to develop the 2019/20-2023/24 TIP started in June 2018 when the MPO Board adopted its 2018 Project Priority List. That list was forwarded to FDOT to prepare its Draft Tentative Five Year Work Program which includes roadway improvements, transportation alternatives, bridge, safety and public transportation projects (i.e. transit, aviation, port, intermodal and transportation disadvantaged program projects).

The TIP will be presented at upcoming committee meetings on May 6th and will be presented to the MPO Board at their next MPO Board meeting on May 20, 2019. The TIP must be submitted to FDOT by July 15, 2019.
