NOTIFICATION IS GIVEN that the Sarasota/Manatee MPO will hold a Public Transportation Task Force Meeting on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 8:15 a.m. in the Conference Room at the Sarasota/Manatee MPO, 8100 15th Street East, Sarasota, Florida 34243. Meeting Materials will be posted to the MPO website at www.mympo.org on Friday, May 13, 2022.

Public Comment: This notice is published pursuant to the requirements of the Federal Laws, Florida Statutes, and MPO Policy. No stenographic record by a certified court reporter is made of this meeting. Accordingly, any person who may seek to appeal any decisions involving the matter noticed herein will be responsible for making a verbatim record of the testimony and evidence at this meeting upon which any appear is to be based.

There are five (5) ways for the public to participate:

Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) now Available for Public Review and Comment

Each year the Sarasota/Manatee MPO updates the 5 Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The new Draft TIP for FY 2022/23—2026/27 is now available for public review and comment. 

To access and download the new Draft 2022 TIP, go to https://www.mympo.org/m/mandates/tip. Or, CLICK HERE for a direct download.

The draft TIP will be presented at upcoming committee meetings on May 9th and to the MPO Board at their next MPO Board meeting on May 23, 2022. The TIP must be submitted to FDOT by July 15, 2022.

NOTIFICATION IS GIVEN that the Sarasota/Manatee MPO Board will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at the Sarasota/Manatee MPO, 8100 15th Street East, Sarasota, Florida 34243. Meeting Materials and information regarding technology and access will be posted to the MPO website at www.mympo.org on Friday, February 18, 2022.

There are five (5) ways for the public to participate:

  1. In person at the MPO Board Meeting by filling out a comment card.
  2. Written comments will be accepted before, during, and after the meeting. All written comments will be included as part of the official public record of the meeting. Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is Available for Public Review and Comment

Each year the Sarasota/Manatee MPO updates the 5 Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The new Draft TIP for FY 2021/22—2025/26 is now available for public review and comment. Visit the following link to provide comments on the Interactive TIP here: https://publicinput.com/X7478. To comment on projects, just click on the location or project, write your comment, and then click submit.

If you would like to download the TIP, please visit our Library page on the MPO Website, select Transportation Improvement Program, and then select Draft 2021 TIP.  Visit the MPO Website by following this link: https://www.mympo.org/documents-library.

The TIP will be presented at upcoming committee meetings on May 10th and will be presented to the MPO Board at their next MPO Board meeting on May 24, 2021. The TIP must be submitted to FDOT by July 15, 2021.

45-day public review and comment period is NOW open for the Draft 2021 Public Participation Plan (PPP)

The Sarasota/Manatee MPO wants everyone to contribute to the updated DRAFT 2021 Public Participation Plan (PPP). The document can be downloaded here https://www.mympo.org/m/mandates/ppp

The PPP is the guide to involving the public in the MPO transportation planning process, major documents, projects, and programs. Every three years, MPO staff evaluates the public participation techniques and strategies laid out in the Public Participation Plan (PPP). Afterwards, the PPP is updated to incorporate the findings from the evaluation. The MPO wants to hear your input on the updated DRAFT PPP. If you have any comments or questions, please let us know by 5:00PM on Monday, May 19, 2021 when the official 45-day comment period closes. Here are four ways for the public to comment on the PPP:

Florida Strategic Highway Safety Plan Posted for Public Comment

We are excited to announce the public comment period for the Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) is now open. The draft SHSP is posted and available for public comment through March 10, 2021.

30-day public comment period is NOW open for the Draft Transform 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan

The Sarasota/Manatee MPO wants everyone to contribute to the updated DRAFT 2020 Transform 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). The document can be downloaded here https://www.mympo.org/m/mandates/lrtp.

The purpose of the 2045 LRTP is to develop future transportation facilities in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. The LRTP must consider the full complement of transportation modes – roads, bicycles, pedestrians, trails, transit, parking, railroads and airports. The plan includes at least twenty years and must be updated every five years. The 2045 LRTP must include robust public involvement to shape the final plan.

The MPO wants to hear your input on the updated DRAFT Transform 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan. If you have any comments or questions, please let us know by 8:00AM on Monday, October 26, 2020 when the official 30-day comment period closes. There is a copy available to view at the MPO Offices. Each year the Sarasota/Manatee MPO updates the 5 Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The new Draft TIP for FY 2019/20—2023/24 is now available for public review and comment. Background: The process to develop the 2019/20-2023/24 TIP started in June 2018 when the MPO Board adopted its 2018 Project Priority List. That list was forwarded to FDOT to prepare its Draft Tentative Five Year Work Program which includes roadway improvements, transportation alternatives, bridge, safety and public transportation projects (i.e. transit, aviation, port, intermodal and transportation disadvantaged program projects).

The TIP will be presented at upcoming committee meetings on May 6th and will be presented to the MPO Board at their next MPO Board meeting on May 20, 2019. The TIP must be submitted to FDOT by July 15, 2019.
