MANATEE COUNTY
I-75 at US 301 Interchange (Exit 224): Construction project: Project will widen the I-75 from SR 64 to the Manatee River, reconfigure the I-75/US 301 interchange from a partial cloverleaf interchange to a tight diamond configuration, construct new bridges will be constructed over the Manatee River for a northbound exit ramp and a southbound entrance ramp, and US 301 improvements. This week, crews will work on I-75 widening, drainage and utility work on US 301, and pile driving and beam installation for the construction of the new bridges over the Manatee River and Salt Marsh Bridge.

This week, crews will work on light poles and signal components.

US 41-BUS from 17th to Bayshore Road/ 26th Street, including the 23rd Street Roundabout, Palmetto: Construction: Work is underway so please use caution in the construction zone and be alert for construction equipment in the area. Construction crews will be working at the intersection of US 41 BUS and 23rd Street.
- A lane shift has occurred so crews can begin working on the center Lanes have been reduced to one lane in each direction and will last for approximately two months. Right turns on 23rd Street have reopened.
- Motorists can expect temporary daytime lane closures between 17th Street and 26th Street throughout the duration of the project.
US 301 from 25th Court East to 13th Avenue East: Construction project: Crews have begun a 7.6-mile improvements project consisting of milling and resurfacing the roadway, widening in areas, base work, curb and gutter, sidewalk, guardrail, drainage improvements, bridge expansion joints, signalization, lighting, and signing and pavement marking.
- Work will continue at the intersection of Tallevast Road and US 301, which will include a pedestrian detour on the west side of US 301 and shoulder closures during the day to install the signal foundations from 7 m. to 6 p.m.

A lane shift is in place. Plan for additional travel time or consider an alternate route. Please use caution in the area. Completion is expected by late spring 2024.
SR 64 Anna Maria Draw Bridge over Sarasota Pass: Permit project: Rescheduled Manatee County waterline repair work for late September due to delay in materials. They estimate lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Expect delays and consider alternate routes for the duration of the project.
SR 64 Anna Maria Draw Bridge over Sarasota Pass: Bridge improvement: Crews are working on the bridge to perform normal updates and maintenance. From September 6 through September 15 work will require lane closures. Allow additional travel time and consider an alternate route such as Cortez Bridge.
- On Monday, September 11, through Friday, September 15, crews will be completing mechanical rehabilitation, coatings repairs and concrete repairs on the bridge and require overnight lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., both east and westbound.
- Between 3 m. and 5 a.m., there will be complete closures of the bridge for 30- minute intervals to complete work on the movable span.
SR 64 between 17th Street East to 27th Street East: Permit project: Through October FPL will be installing 35 new power poles. Motorists should anticipate intermittent eastbound outside lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please use caution in the area and be alert for lane shifts. Motorists may wish to use alternate routes or allow extra travel time.
SR 64 from 43rd Street West to 15th Street East and from 10th Street West to 10th Street East: Construction project: Crews have begun the 1.7-mile resurfacing project through the City of Bradenton. Motorists can expect overnight lane closures from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and temporary lane closures when work requires. Expect noise and light from construction equipment. Motorists should add additional travel time for slow-moving traffic or consider an alternate route. Completion is slated for spring 2024.
SARASOTA COUNTY
I-75 at SR 72/Clark Road (Exit 205): Construction project: Project improvements include reconstructing the existing interchange to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI), adding auxiliary lane on I-75 northbound from SR 72 to Bee Ridge Road, widen I- 75 southbound from Proctor Road to SR 72, and improvements on Clark Road. This week, crews will work on the ramps, retaining walls, and paving the I-75 shoulders.
- Motorists should expect single lane closures on I-75 during nighttime/overnight hours from 7 m. to 5:30 a.m. bound through the duration of the construction.
- Motorists should expect double lane closures on I-75 during nighttime/overnight hours from 10 m. to 4:30 a.m. through the duration of the construction.

US 41 South between South Palm Avenue and Hudson Avenue: Permit project: Through the end of September 2023, crews are finalizing all work at the Marie Selby Gardens. Motorists should expect temporary inside and outside lane closures as well as overnight lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please use particular caution in the area and watch for pedestrians, bicyclists and workers.
US 41 from Caribbean Drive to Stickney Point: Construction: Construction on the next phase along a 1.4-mile area of US 41 from Caribbean Drive to Stickney Point Road has begun. Work consists of implementing safety improvements along the corridor, including resurfacing, lighting and signalization, median improvements, improved drainage, shoulder reconstruction, improved sidewalks, improved bicycle lanes, and curb and gutter improvements.
- Crews will remain focused on sidewalk placement, drainage, earthwork and gravity walls.
- Most work should be in the FDOT right of way, off the main roadway.
US 41 at Gulfstream Avenue Roundabout: Landscaping project: A separate contract is supporting the landscaping of the area and will take approximately four months. Lane closures will be during overnight hours, and noise from landscaping vehicles and lighting are to be expected.
US 41 at Wellen Park Village Roundabouts: Permit project: A lane shift is in place for approximately six (6) months. Consider alternate routes or add additional travel time during peak hours.
- Crews continue to focus on drainage work and curb and gutters.
SR 777 River Road from I-75 to US 41: Construction project: Motorists can expect pond excavation near Venice Avenue and just north of Rambler’s Rest RV Park on the northbound roadway. Embankment activities continue on the southbound roadway from US 41 to Stoney Creek Boulevard. Drainage structure and pipe installation will also continue throughout the project. Signal and lighting work is also on-going throughout the project. Paving during daytime hours will take place between Stoneycreek Boulevard and Center Road on Thursday and Friday, 9/14 and 9/15. This will be out of traffic and will not require any lane or shoulder closures. Trucks will be crossing the road at various locations using intermittent flagging operations.
SR 681 from I-75 to US 41: Construction project: Crews are completing the placement of silt fence along the 2.8 stretch of roadway in preparation for construction. The resurfacing project will also improve drainage, provide a cross-slope correction for leveling and comfort, new guardrail, updated signing and marking, install intelligent transportation equipment and signalization.
- Paving on the project has started so motorists should expect temporary lane closures for the duration of the project.
- During resurfacing of the highway, on- and off-ramps will require limited overnight detours.
- Noise from construction equipment should be anticipated for the duration.
