On September 21, 2020, the Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) proclaimed the week of October 30 through November 6, 2020 as Mobility Week.

What is Mobility Week?

Mobility Week is a statewide celebration of making smart, efficient, and safe transportation choices. Mobility Week, counties, cities, and transportation agencies host events to promote safe and sustainable transportation choices.

What happens during Mobility Week?

Mobility Week is an ideal time for counties, cities, and transportation agencies to highlight transportation achievements, roll out new initiatives and/or implement new policies; and

It is also an opportunity for individuals to explore the various transportation choices available to them and think about how multi modal transportation reduces traffic congestion, benefits the environment, and improves community health.

Gulf Coast Safe Streets Summit

The 3rd annual Gulf Coast Safe Streets Summit (GCSSS) will be held virtually for the first time. The Summit is a collaborative effort between the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and six metropolitan planning organizations: Forward Pinellas, Hernando/Citrus MPO, Hillsborough MPO, Pasco MPO, Polk TPO, and the Sarasota/Manatee MPO.

The Summit is an educational event that brings together national speakers, public officials, technical staff, sister counties, and community partners to elevate our efforts on how to design and implement safe and equitable transportation facilities for all modes of transportation. Registrations opens September 28, 2020. For more information about the Summit visit: https://www.gulfcoastsafestreetssummit.org/.
