FDOT District One to Host Public Hearings for the
Tentative Five-Year Work Program
Fiscal Years 2021/2022 – 2025/2026

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One will host two in-person public hearings with a virtual component, to accept public comment on its Draft Tentative Five-Year Work Program for fiscal year 2021/2022 through 2025/2026. District One includes Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Manatee, Lee, Okeechobee, Polk and Sarasota counties. At the public hearings, information will be available on projects programmed to improve transportation infrastructure over the next five years.

The in-person public hearings will be held simultaneously at the District One headquarters in Bartow and at the SWIFT SunGuide Center in Fort Myers on Tuesday, January 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The public hearings will provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions or make comments about the Work Program and about specific projects included in the Work Program plan. The sessions will comply with all current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, and social distancing will be followed.

Online Public Hearing

In-person attendees may review Work Program information with staff, ask questions, and share comments for the public record. Online attendees may review Work Program information on the www.SWFLroads.com website and share comments via GoToWebinar for inclusion in the public record.

Additional Opportunities to Participate

Interested individuals may schedule an in-person appointment to review materials and discuss the Work Program with FDOT staff. During the week of January 11 through January 15, FDOT representatives will be available for appointments at the District One Headquarters in Bartow (call (863) 519-2662 to schedule) and the SWIFT Regional Transportation Center in Fort Myers (call (239) 225-1900 to schedule).

Work Program materials will also be available for review online via the www.SWFLroads.com website.
