The Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking a qualified individual to perform skilled professional work developing and coordinating a public information program that promotes awareness and understanding of transportation planning, projects, and issues through proactive communication with citizens, news media, and organizations. The Public Involvement Coordinator is responsible for developing, planning, and administering projects which are complex in nature and/or large in scope. They will Administer the ongoing management of the MPO website and other social media. and be responsible for developing, planning, and administering projects which are complex in nature and/or large in scope.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000

The Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking a qualified individual to perform advanced level managerial, professional, and administrative work associated with transportation planning activities of a metropolitan planning organization, with primary responsibility for development, administration, and coordination of the financial and human resources functions of the organization. 

Salary Range: $56,400 - $84,000

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in urban or transportation planning, public administration, Personnel Management, Business, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Finance, Accounting, or closely related field or a related field with five (5) years progressively responsible experience, including a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience preferred. A Master’s degree in a relevant field with professional experience is a plus. Minimum of three years’ work experience in the planning/financial/accounting/human resources field; MPO and/or local or state government experience is highly desirable.

The Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking a qualified individual to develop, implement, and monitor transportation projects in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. The selected candidate will join the MPO planning team to coordinate auto, freight, transit, bicycle, pedestrian, and trail system planning. This individual will work closely with local governments, transportation providers, public and private advocacy groups, neighborhoods, and local constituents.  The MPO is the legally designated organization responsible for developing state and federal transportation plans and programs that address the complex needs of the two-county area as well as the local needs of the partner jurisdictions. 

General Information

PLANNER I
Salary Range: $42,744 - $60,216

PLANNER II
Salary Range: $46,800 - $66,456

SENIOR PLANNER
Salary Range: $50,107 - $75,400

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications for Planner I

Minimum Qualifications for Planner II
BA/BS degree urban/regional planning, transportation planning or a closely related field; such as Public Administration and Economic Development.
A minimum of 4 yrs. related professional planning experience or closely related experience.

Minimum Qualifications for Planner III Senior Planner
BA/BS degree urban/regional planning, transportation planning or a closely related field; such as Public Administration and Economic Development.
A minimum 5 yrs. related professional planning experience or field closely related to area of assignment.
