Regional Try Transit Day

The 2018 Green Commuting Challenge will take place during April, to coincide with Earth Month and Healthy Counties Month, and unite several local efforts from each county. Activities include worksite and college campus challenges to try alternatives to driving alone, such as biking, walking, carpooling, taking public transit, teleworking, and more.  The campaign urges people to not drive alone and track their trips to win.

Special activities and events are planned throughout April, including “Try Transit Days”, bicycle and pedestrian activities, challenges, worksite contests, establishment of new commuter amenities, participation from elected officials, proclamations, award ceremonies, and more. “Regional Try Transit Day” is designed to promote local transit agencies, increase ridership and raise awareness of public transit and healthier lifestyles.
The “Regional Try Transit Day” will offer discount specials, free rides, passes and or tracking prizes to commuters.  It is a great opportunity for new riders to learn about their County’s bus systems and try out public transit to various destinations. It is also an opportunity to acknowledge and reward existing users.

Regional Try Transit Day Promotion scheduled for Friday, April 20 – two days before Earth Day!

Earth Month (April) is a great time to try a greener transportation option—one that you can look to add to your daily, weekly, or monthly travels. Choosing a Green Commute will not only help improve the environment and our air quality, but it will also save you money. More green trips could mean more personal time and a chance to catch up on your favorite shows or books, and spending more time with commuter friends. Take the Green Commuting Challenge!

Track and Win. Log all your trips!

Tag your photos and stories on social media.

Individuals who track trips will be entered in prize drawings donated by partnering organizations.
