Bring your friends, families, and neighbors to learn about different ways you can get around the region on the bus, your bike, and by foot. Help the community prioritize future walking, biking, and transit options. Find out more information on the natural beauty of The Legacy Trail and the trial extension plans. Hear more about the upcoming project on Myrtle Street from FDOT representatives. Meet and greet with organizations and groups who promote walking and bicycling.  Take this opportunity to get involved with the MPO, the City of Sarasota, and the Sarasota/Manatee regional community.

The public is invited to attend TransForum: Neighborhoods – Bus, Bike, Walk to discuss proposed connections to existing regional routes for safe walking, biking, and transit. This bi-county event is hosted by the Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), in partnership with the City of Sarasota on March 11, 2019, 4:30 – 6:30 PM, at the Bayfront Community Center, 803 Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL.

This event is part of the 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). Information gathered at this event will feed into the 25-year long range transportation for the Manatee and Sarasota region. The purpose of the Sarasota/Manatee MPO 2045 LRTP is to develop future transportation facilities in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. The LRTP must consider the full complement of transportation modes – roads, bicycles, pedestrians, trails, transit, parking, railroads and airports. The plan includes at least twenty years and must be updated every five years.
