The Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) assists the Metropolitan Planning Organization by providing input to the transportation planning process that reflects the citizens' views and attitudes. CAC members represent a general cross section of the citizens of Sarasota and Manatee counties including the cities within the counties.
CAC meetings are held at 5 PM in the main conference room at the MPO Office located at 5460 63rd St E, Suite A, Bradenton, FL 34203. The MPO occasionally has special meetings which will be posted on this website. The public are always welcome and are encouraged to participate during the public input portion of all meetings.
There are 19 appointed members of the CAC apportioned as follows:
11 citizens residing in the following areas:
Anna Maria Island (ITPO) 1
City of Bradenton 1
City of North Port 1
City of Palmetto 1
City of Sarasota 1
City of Venice 1
Manatee County 2
Sarasota County 2
Town of Longboat Key 1
Eight (8) citizens at large who may be nominated by the county or any city within the county, including but not limited to four residents from each county to include the following representation:
A minimum of one citizen for each county representing the disabled;
A minimum of one citizen for each county representing minorities; and
Two members appointed from each county to ensure adequate representation from all geographic areas of the region, and to include groups having civic, community, and economic interests.
