Mobility 2035 Focus Groups
Public Participation will play a large role in the development of the update to the Long Range Transportation Plan. Focus groups are one of the many ways the MPO will reach out to the community for input on the development of the transportation plan.
A focus group is usually a smaller group of people (5-15) convened to discuss community priorities, current plans or projects and desired mobility improvements. An MPO representative gives a brief overview of the LRTP process and then opens the floor for discussion. The discussions are then used to shape the vision and plans for the future transportation system serving Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
Some of the groups identified for engagement are: neighborhood associations, environmental interests, business, economic and development interests, students, transit riders, people who have mobility limitations, such as the elderly or people with disabilities, minority groups, and public safety representatives. The goal is to reach a diverse cross section of people with various perspectives and ideas for the future.
We welcome your participation in this process. If you would like to schedule a presentation or meeting with MPO representatives to discuss transportation issues facing the community, please contact:
